Trinity-Klamath Report

Hen with her eye on the dry

Klamath: Fishing is fair with many more half pounders than adult being caught. Fish are spread throughout the system from the mouth all the way up to I5. Best fishing has been from Orleans to Happy Camp swinging small wet flies such as Muddlers, Silent Assassins, Assassins, Duck Turds, and October Hiltons. More adult fish should be pushing into the system over the next month and we usually start to see some bigger fish in early to mid November.

Trinity: Fishing is fair to great. Both half pounders and adults are spread throughout the system from the mouth to Douglas City. Flows are back to normal but would rather see them at 450 out of the dam this time of year. There are a ton of salmon in he system, probably more than I have seen in ten years but can make the steelhead skittish at times. We have seen a good number of fish to the dry fly and this action could potentially continue into mid November. Swinging wet flies has produced the best action in low light periods. Silent Assassins, October Hiltons, Sword Fighters, and muddlers have been top producers. We should have good fishing on the Trinity for the next 3-4 weeks.

Available Dates:

November: 13-16, 20-22, 29-30
